I heard recently that plans on the splash pad have been delayed. Can you provide an update as to when this can be expected to be open?
Like every project there is always a few delays that aren’t expected. The City of Page received a $500K grant from Arizona Parks and Trails that has not yet been received. These funds were provided by a state federal grant, and with the situation in Washington D.C. right now, the state has not received those funds. City Council will need to decide if they are going to provide the extra funding for the splashpad or if they are going to reevaluate. The original plan was to have the splashpad completed by September of 2025.

Seeing that there are lots of residences with trash in their yards could the city work with the Republic Services to do a Bulk Trash pickup day for residents who do not own a truck to take items to the dump?
Thank you for your question. Actually, the citizens of Page do exactly that with the generous donation of Republic Services. Page Attacks Trash is a day where the entire community comes together to pick up trash around the whole town and is done every spring. Republic Services donates all of the large bin trash cans and charges nothing for collecting and removing the trash. If you would like further information please just reach out to the City of Page.

Can the illegal juvenile ATV/dirt bike activity up and down Newburn Rd. be stopped? It is not a racetrack. The police are aware of the problem. Also on the “open space” along the rim trail below the library and the police station!
Thank you for your question. This is a continual problem that the city has faced for many years. The problem is being in the right place at the right time. As you can imagine that other crimes, such as crimes that involve a victim take precedence, so if an officer isn’t right there when a neighbor calls the ATV in, it heads straight out into the desert. We will continue to patrol that area and even increase when possible.

Red Mesa Rim Trail is supposed to be open at dawn. In 2024 there were 7 holidays that the gate was never unlocked. Any chance that we could improve the situation in 2024?
We will see if we can make an effort to improve on this. Please keep in mind that the staff of the city is on a holiday, and we will need to find someone who is willing to volunteer to get out of bed before dawn. We won’t guarantee but let us see what we can do.

Will we be getting a New public Pool and Splash Pad? Where will it be?
We are thrilled to share that the city has officially begun the planning process for a new swimming pool. After months of discussions, community engagement, and careful budgeting, the city has voted to confirm a funding source that will not only support the construction of this much-anticipated facility but also ensure its ongoing maintenance. A new swimming pool will provide a safe and enjoyable space for families, children, and individuals to gather and engage in healthy recreational activities. I cannot emphasize enough how vital this project is to our community’s well-being, and I look forward to seeing its positive impact in the years to come. The swimming pool is planned for the property directly behind the PERA Club on Haul Road.
In addition to the swimming pool, we have exciting news about other recreational projects that are set to begin in the new year and will bring joy and activity to our residents. We are eagerly anticipating the groundbreaking of a new splash pad this spring, designed to be a fun-filled park facility for our children during the warmer months. The splash pad will serve as a gathering place where families can create lasting memories, and I encourage everyone to get involved in the upcoming celebrations surrounding its opening. The splash-pad is planned for the Sports Facility on Haul Road.
City Council & Meetings

I have been streaming the city council meetings live for some time. I notice when the council goes into executive session the recorded meeting ends there and when the council reconvenes the recording does not continue. How is the remainder of the meeting accessible?
Normally once the City Council goes into Executive Session the staff member who mans the cameras for the meeting leaves, because there is no guarantee when the Council might return to the open meeting. The only way you can review what the last few minutes of the meeting is to review the audio that is available on the Agenda section of the city website. That audio is normally available one to two days after the meeting, attached is the city site for you to review.
