City of Page Receives GFOA Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting
PAGE, Ariz. — The City of Page has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025.
The association describes the certificate as the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
When a government earns the certificate, the association also presents an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement to the individual or department primarily responsible. Finance Director Linda Watson received that award.
The report was prepared by the City of Page Finance Department and audited by HintonBurdick, PLLC, which found the City’s financial statements were presented fairly in all material respects. The City issued the report to the public 161 days after the fiscal year ended. The association requires reports to be submitted within six months.
“Our annual report is where residents, Council and anyone else can see where the City’s money comes from and how it is spent,” Watson said. “This award recognizes the work our Finance staff does all year to keep those records accurate, complete and on time.”
The association established the certificate program in 1945 to encourage state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and publish reports that reflect transparency and full disclosure. Reports are reviewed by association staff and a committee of public finance professionals, including financial statement preparers, independent auditors and academics. The program evaluates whether a report gives readers the information they need to assess a government’s finances for themselves.
The City has received the certificate annually for more than two decades.
The fiscal 2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is available on the Finance Department page.
