I’ve lived in Page for 11 years and there have been several serious collisions on Lake Powell Blvd. As you drive up the hill by the library there are people trying to cross the road at the intersection with Aspen St. since it is the only place for pedestrians to cross to get from Lake Powell Mobile Home Village/Vermilion View Apartments to the parks and downtown area. That intersection would benefit from a stop light and crosswalk more than any in town. During some parts of the day it’s nearly impossible to make a left turn from Aspen St. onto the Blvd. A traffic light and crosswalk would also serve to naturally slow down traffic approaching the library schools and churches. I know everything takes a long time in government but this really should be a priority. I always hear councilmembers and the public complain about speed on Lake Powell Blvd but nothing other than putting up some electronic signs has been done to address the speed/pedestrian safety issue. Please make this a priority.
Thank you for the detailed feedback on Aspen St. and Lake Powell Blvd. Specific, location-based input like this genuinely helps us understand where to focus safety improvements. The City is currently commissioning a comprehensive safety study of Lake Powell Blvd. to evaluate locations like this one for potential improvements. Once complete, the findings and recommended projects will be presented to Council and posted online, and this intersection will be considered as part of that review. We appreciate you taking the time to share this with us.

Hello I am wishing to inquire on the City’s efforts to help low-income community members in section 8 housing. I have been doing some research in this area and have found that resources are seriously lacking for Page AZ. Private companies like Catholic Charities should not be the answer. I work with clients regularly that live both in the community and on the reservation that have nowhere to go and are piled on top of each other living with family members while no affordable housing is even being offered. The closest housing authority for non-tribal members is in Flagstaff AZ and they do not prioritize anyone that lives outside of Flagstaff. This puts people who are less fortunate here in Page in a really tough spot with being able to get into affordable housing. This is not fair to the community members and should be seriously looked at as there is a market for this problem. There appears to be no way housing authority for Page AZ and this website appears to not have an option for me to leave contact information on this page so here is my contact information should you decide to respond my inquiry. I would appreciate a response because as I mentioned I work professionally in trying to help community members get out of bad situations to improve their quality of life.
Your assessment is accurate. Page does not have a housing authority, and Flagstaff gives preference to applicants who live or work in Flagstaff, which means an application from here faces an indefinite wait, and any voucher issued there can only be used to lease in Flagstaff. Creating a housing authority in Page would not close that gap. HUD does not allocate vouchers to newly formed authorities, and the only new federal vouchers since 2008 have gone to narrow competitive grants for specific populations, where established agencies hold the advantage. I would also add that Page has no supportive or transitional housing of its own, so the people you are working with have limited to no local options even before the voucher question comes up. What the City does control is land and development. We are a partner in a proposed student and workforce housing project near the Coconino Community College campus; we are implementing a mandatory registration requirement for short-term rentals, and one new development in the pipeline will carry private restrictions against short-term rentals. Is city park sprinkled with waste water ?
The City’s parks and splash pad are not currently supplied with reclaimed water; they use potable water that is safe for drinking. Reclaimed water is wastewater that has been treated for safe, non-drinking uses, such as landscape irrigation. The Lake Powell National Golf Course uses Class A+ reclaimed water for irrigation. For more information about municipal water use, please contact the City directly.

Where can I find the info for online traffic school?
You can find information on approved online traffic schools through the Arizona Supreme Court’s Defensive Driving Program website. The site provides a list of certified schools and eligibility information for citations issued in Arizona, including Coconino County and the City of Page: https://www.azcourts.gov/drive/defensive-driving-schools

There will likely be supplemental power generation cooling system contractors and other industrial supply businesses required to facilitate this business. While the data center itself may not be a source of pollution (sight air noise light) some of these other businesses may. Has the City considered the additional impacts and zoning of the additional businesses that are typically symbiotic with and tend to cluster around data centers?
Yes, it is possible that businesses providing services or support to a data center could seek to locate in the area in the future. However, no such proposals are currently under consideration by the City. The current review is limited to the proposed data center. Any future development proposal would be evaluated based on the applicable zoning regulations, development standards, and approval processes in effect at that time.

Is there anyway to do summer hours for the sports courts especially since school is out. I have noticed they are full and I would much rather have my kids at the courts then hanging out around town.
Thank you for the suggestion. We will pass your feedback along to staff for consideration. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and agree that recreational opportunities for local youth are important, especially during the summer months.
